I'm thankful for the opportunity to help build this website and learn from the team. It was a privilege to assist Harvard Univ Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital by leading their real user monitoring efforts for the COVID Near You front-end. I haven't thought much about being one since I discovered #artificialintelligence, but the pandemic has inspired me to be a more helpful engineer. Help us fight the pandemic by reporting your health status at: If you or your team uses MongoDB University, check it out and let me know what you think!Ĭheck out COVID Near You, a community-based surveillance system to track #COVID19. I can’t wait to see how this impacts our learners. But this? I know for a fact that I knocked this one out of the park. I can project confidence, but it’s never come naturally to me. I’ve spent most of my life feeling unsure of myself and doubting the work that I do, even when others tell me I did a good job. That’s not a brag- that’s character development. It is a great feeling to go from being overwhelmed by a chunk of code to becoming the owner of that module. And now, I didn’t just rewrite most of the code and create a bunch of new features- I also wrote detailed documentation to help demystify the most complex part of our platform. When I joined the University team full time in 2020, I was so intimidated by the code for v1 of our IDE, which had just been released. I remember taking University courses as a MongoDB intern in 2019 and wishing that there was some kind of IDE to save me the trouble of downloading and installing all the required software on my own. This is actually a really cool full circle moment for me. I’ve had to keep this under wraps for a long time, but the day is finally here- release day for v2 of MongoDB University's in-browser IDE! After working on this project (and close to nothing else) for 4 months, it is both so thrilling and so nerve-racking to see it out in the world so that it can be used daily by tens of thousands of students.
